Blackbird Day

Forget Groundhog Day! Today is Blackbird Day. No, it is not on your calendar. But it is here. I knew it as soon as I stepped out this morning. There are THOUSANDS of returning blackbirds and, to me, that signals the end of winter much more than a rodent's shadow in Pennsylvania.

ps. Don't park under the trees.

AMEN! Kenny and I sat after track practice today, waiting on kids to leave, and noticed the sky was black. Not because of clouds, but because of these birds! They weren't swirling, recycling the same birds, but new ones just kept coming! I thought I was caught up in the movie "The Birds!"
